Why MakePeace International?

Art is the language of the imagination. Whether it is film, drama, music, or writing, art speaks to the deepest part of our soul. As the philosopher Soren Kierkeggard said, "It can penetrate where even the sun's rays cannot shine."

For this reason, MakePeace International embraces the arts to accomplish its mission. Both mind and heart must be engaged to inspire action. However, action will not occur unless people know the truth. But, knowledge alone is not enough to move us. Emotions must be penetrated.

It is only when the imagination and the intellect are touched that art transcends barriers that otherwise separate us. This, then, is the unique ability of creative communication: people coming together to share their stories in pursuit of peace, hope, and reconciliation.
